Introduction To Agility - Saturday 15th April 9am-12.30pm
The morning is divided into two 90min workshops. This event is a three-hour taster session for those wanting to find out what agility is all about
The time is split into two different sessions - each with a professional Instructor
One session will focus on the Foundation Skills we need to get started with agility
• Importance of warm-up and cool down your dog
• Increase body awareness and reduce injury
• Understand and improve your dog’s posture
• Strengthen targeted muscles
The other session will focus on
• Tunnels & building drive for them
• Forward Focus
• Toy Play & Rewards
• Introduction to equipment
We will start to teach you some of the popular behaviours used in agility and introduce you to some of the equipment. This is all extremely low-level so is suitable for dogs aged from eight months and older. There will be no jumping at this stage.
**Please note these sessions are not suitable for dog reactive dogs, aggressive dogs or dogs with behaviour problems**
There will be a demonstration and half-hour break between sessions for refreshments and to allow your dogs some down-time
